Clive Boursnell was born in London. After ten years of classical ballet training and working in the forestry dept. of Windsor Great Park, he moved to Canada, first working on a dairy farm then in gold and uranium mines, followed by geophysical prospecting in the north west territories, becoming a professional mountaineer and an assistant glaciologist for McGill University on Axel Heiberg in the high arctic, after returning to London, he assisted a fashion photographer, going on to being, for two years a staff photographer with The Ambassador Magazine.

Since 1969 Clive has been freelance, clients have included, The Observer, Sunday Times Colour, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Country Living, BBC Wild Life, Country Life, National trust, English Heritage, Royal Academy of Art, Royal Opera House, The Rothschild’s, Academy of St Martin in the fields, The Body Shop, Science Museum, Philharmonia Chorus, Sainsbury’s, CAPCO, Moscow Flower Show [2013] The Forster Co. Covent Garden Market Authority Nine Elms.
He also Lectures and gives photographic workshops, e.g. National Garden Scheme, Oxford Botanic Garden, and continues to do so at Oxford Brooks.
